Imagine you could just write an e-mail, to invoke a digital assistant, for saving your ideas. If this assistant would understand a unique language, that you can easily remember, it could do other things for you too. For example, in case you need a reminder or want to send a message to someone at a certain time, but not now. 

The IBOAPP works exactly like that, organizes your notes and sends emails on schedule, it just requires a one time Setup. 

Compared with native apps, IBOAPP works with any mail client on any device. The IBOAPP is mobile and saves battery, because it is not working like an additional app on your device, and it will continue to function  if the device is switched off. The IBOAPP is quicker and easier, because text notes are sorted into documents and stored in chronological order and if you want to cancel a scheduled  message, delete the original email before it is sent. The dot language is easier to learn than interfaces of apps that are changing over time.

Make sure you are logged in with the account only, that you want to use for running IBOAPP.

TIMER : Schedule Your e-Mails


Use "TIMER" for scheduling of important emails.  Especially by using the short-cuts, like "3 d" for setting "in three days". The email is sent to you or the named recipient, shortly after the defined point in time . 

Create scheduled email messages using the unique IBOAPP control language.
  1. Field "To": Your own email address (eg "de@iboapp.info")

  2. Field "Subject": Insert  three dots before the subject (eg "...Happy birthday")

  3. First line of you email body to define the time : Insert one dot before the time at which you want to send the email (eg ".1.1.2016 15:00")
  4. Second line (optional) to define the recipient : Insert one dot before the email address into the second line of your email to define the recipient.
It is important to insert these settings on separate lines.

You will receive a reply which confirms that delivery of your email to the logged recipient has been scheduled by IBOAPP at the given time.


The "TIMER" sends the E-Mail on your behalf, shortly after the specified time.

  1. Messages will not be delivered if the emails were deleted, i.e. prior to the time that was scheduled.
  2. ".1y" means one year from now and ".3M" in three months
  3. Alternative shortcuts are 1 minute, 2 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 1 year, 2 years.

MEMO : Organize Your Notes by e-Mail


Use "MEMO" for selecting relevant information from a bunch of emails. Collect important passages in a  document. They are sorted by date and time. That also simplifies sorting of paper notes.

A collection of notes has a name. A document for the collection will have the same name. Keep notes as follows :
  1. Field "To": Your own email address (eg "de@iboapp.info")

  2. Field "Subject": Insert three dots before the name of the document (eg "...tutorial")

  3. E-mail body: Your notes (no attachments, no images, just text) (eg "Users benefit from...")

  4. First line of your email body (optional): Insert two dots before Date and time (eg "..11.8.2015 20:15")

  5. Any line of your email body (optional): Insert hash # before title text (eg "# title level 1, ##title level 2, ### title level 3 etc") as text of the email to structure a MEMO. The time will be inserted before the title on level one. 

  6. Attached images in PNG, GIF or JPEG format are inserted into the last paragraph of the MEMO and resized in proportion to 640 px width.
It is important to insert the settings on separate lines.

  • The reply to your email includes the links for the document and the MEMO folder.  
  • Date and time for a table of contents, in chronological order, of individual memos - by default the timestamp of the email. 
  • You can edit the template for MEMO-Documents.

  1. For processing the email as "MEMO", you self must be the sender of the email. 

  2. The document name will be converted into lower case letters to ensure that it is found correctly.

  3. Do you want to skip the auto signature? Write two hyphen characters and one blank character as the first line of your auto signature.  

  4. Send an email to someone else and start the subject with three points, the email will also be saved as memo. But it will not be interpreted as a MEMO by the recipient.

Known Limitations


IBOAPP works in 44+ languages in a Google Account as a pure Apps Script development. There are two types of accounts, free Gmail and Google Apps for Work. Therefore IBOAPP is subject to Google Apps Script quotas on the Gmail service which is related to your level of Google Account.

There is an email with subject "For more information about IBO with instructions to uninstall" in your inbox. Only authorizations are cancelled with the "red button" and causes error messages. In order to do it right, use the "switch-off" option in UI of the app.

Verifiable Security and Privacy


Google Apps is safer than comparable online services. We regularly review Terms of Use, Security and Privacy rules, source code and web app and the security model.

No hidden back-Doors

Follow the links to see your data when a web app 

  1. sends an e-mail on your behalf
  2. shares a document or spreadsheet
  3. writes to a Web page
and apps with account permissions in general. You can delete what is no longer needed. 

Hint to item 3: 

Write your name into the search field to find websites. Your name is recorded on every page that was edited by your account.

This reveals any script if it is trying to deceive you. Report any abuse please.

Valid Security-Models

The Apps Script security model ensures, that only you will control the access to your data. In other words, the app has access to data, that you could edit yourself.

Secure payment


PayPal provides  payment processing with transparent fees. Each calculation will create a license file.

Automated license control

Neither license file nor folder should be deleted on your own. 
  1. The user account creates a license request file - shared with the supplier.
  2. The supplier creates a license confirmation folder - shared with the user.

General Terms and Conditions


The iBO App Service GbR supplies web apps as a service, available only through the Google Apps platform. These terms of service are valid for using these web apps.

Changes to these terms are signaled to each user via email.

Personal Data

The supplier does not have access to personal data of any user. Except that a user would manually share his data via Google Drive, by entering an address of the supplier.

The Web Apps are designed for Google Apps Business and utilize functions under the privacy policy of Google. Frequently check your security settings.

In Case of Malfunction 

The supplier can not guarantee for proper function, because of dependencies that are out of his control. The following reasons might interfere with proper operation :  
  1. Incompatible browser.
  2. Manually deleted folders, spreadsheets, sites or user properties, that have been created by the application. 
  3. Server error. 
  4. Insufficient computing time (check the quota for your account type) 
  5. Availability of Google Apps services (check dashboard)
In case of malfunction, the supplier can request collaboration by the user. Overlapping with Web apps of other suppliers could also result in malfunctions. The time for solving malfunctions is not predictable.

Updates can cause the repetition of an Authorization-Dialog.

Data Backups

There is no support for backup. Backup requires services like Google  Google Drive Sync. Loss of data can not be excluded. Your data should be available despite malfunction. But data recovery is only possible through standard features of Google Sites, Google Drive and Google Mail, see File deletion and recovery policy. 

Check the data protection provisions of Google and keeping your account secure. Increased security requires archiving, e.g. with Google Apps for Business with Vault

Additional measures to increase security should include Data Liberation and Google Apps Marketplace (Backup Apps).

Refund of Payments

In the event of unexpected malfunction,  no refunds are made.

Web Apps can be used for free for some time, ie any user gets the proof that they are functioning, unless Google Apps Script and Google Apps service are not available. 

Open Source

The user is not allowed to copy or change source-code, in case he has access to it, without prior permission of the supplier.

Violating these Terms of Service

Violating these terms of service, will cause users to be blocked from using the web apps.

Salvatoric Clause

Should these conditions or parts of it be ambiguous, at least from the perspective of users, the user is obliged to inform the supplier, before use of a web app.

Should individual terms of the Terms is invalid or unenforceable or become invalid or unenforceable after the use of the web app has begun, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.

This next clause applies in the event, that a part of the agreement turns out as being incomplete, ineffective or impractical.

In place of a condition that is invalid or unenforceable, such valid and enforceable provision will be applied, whose effect comes closest to the commonly desired objective.
